For perfect performance, throttle response and durability, ECU remapping is recommended.

However, California prohibits the use of any aftermarket exhaust system that modifies, removes, or replaces original equipment catalysts, unless CARB has issued an executive order for the part or system.

In addition, Akrapovic parts or exhaust systems used or intended for use on "racing vehicles" (i.e. a race between vehicles used exclusively for closed circuit racing) do not need a waiver or enforcement order from CARB to be sold in California. However, such parts are prohibited for use on public roads or California roads, even if used from time to time "off-road".
